Cyberpunk 2077 Developer CD Projekt Red Hacked, Releases Ransom Note

It looks like Polish developer CD Projekt Red just can’t seem to catch a break. The company, which has still been reeling from the messy launch of Cyberpunk 2077, has now revealed that they’ve become a victim of cyberattacks.

The company revealed that its internal systems have been compromised due to a cyber attack that occurred yesterday. Regarding the hack, CD Projekt revealed the following:

“An unidentified actor gained unauthorized access to our internal network, collected certain data belonging to CD PROJEKT capital group, and left a ransom note…”

CDPR has also published the ransom note on public platforms, which shows that the hackers gained access to information from various departments within the company including accounting, HR & investor relations.

The hacker group also threatens to release the documents to their “contacts in gaming journalism.” In the same ransom note, the hackers reveal that they have obtained the full source codes for all of CDPR’s projects like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, including the upcoming next-gen versions of the games.
